Intuitive eating is an approach which teaches you how to create a healthy relationship with your food as well as your mind & body.

 

You learn how to distinguish between physical & emotional feelings, to gain a sense of body wisdom. We were all born Intuitive Eaters, but for some of us once we have started dieting we loose that precious relationship with food as well as our bodies. Intuitive Eating helps us to make peace with food.

 

It is a healthy philosophy based on the body's real need for fuel as well as the minds need for satisfaction. It's teaches that your health as well as your self-worth does not have to change because you have eaten something ‘naughty'.

 

On the surface Intuitive Eating sound's very simplistic, but it is rather complex. Trying to unravel the diet mind can cause hiccups in the realness of the program. Intuitive Eating means that you will come face to face with aspects of yourself which you may have hidden for years or even decades. For example one of the basic principles of Intuitive Eating is the ability to respond to inner body cues, ‘Eat when you're hungry, stop when you're full', which may sound obvious, but when you have history of chronic dieting or of being very strict with your eating habits it can be hard to have the confidence to actually eat Intuitively out of fear or mistrust.

Each session we will discuss the issue's which affect you, be they your past, future or present to help you to help you become more aware of how & why you eat. We will also work through the process of becoming an Intuitive Eater, helping you to get back in touch with your natural hunger, ending emotional overeating.

 

Although Intuitive & mindful eating ways of thinking will be utilised so will counselling skills, hypnosis & mindfulness. We will work together to guide you back to a more fulfilling, healthy & natural way of eating & more reliable, loving body image.

 

Resolving eating disorders can be a long journey, it is one best taken without judgment & one step at a time.
